3 Tips for leaders from an optimistic climatepreneur

In the third episode of Making The Difference, Ben Valks of the Black Jaguar Foundation and I discussed an evidence led strategy that is working with farmers and creating jobs to reforest an area of the Amazon the size of Lebanon. But what three tips does he have for leaders who have a bold vision and want to bring others with him?

  1. Always do what you say you’re going to do. Make that mission bold, but what is bold is different for everyone. So, think about what makes it exciting for you.

  2. Do your homework, have a preparation phase. Even if the rest of the world is telling you to fundraise and start implementing. I Invest in that homework in a preparation phase

  3. Trust yourself. If you come up with an idea and a big vision, and it's for you. For example, know that you’re not going to fundraise and instead collect evidence to absolutely inform your next steps.
